[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have already posted the pictures of this butterfly from the series shot in April this year. I found yet another good picture of it I had taken using fill flash since the subject was in the shade. Here it is.

The common Mormon (Papilio polytes) is a common species of swallowtail butterfly widely distributed across Asia.

This butterfly is known for the mimicry displayed by the numerous forms of its females which mimic inedible red-bodied swallowtails, such as the common rose and the crimson rose.

Pakistan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, southern and western China (including Hainan (Guangdong province), Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan (Ryukyu Islands), Vietnam, Laos, Kampuchea, Andamans, Nicobars, Eastern and Peninsular Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia (except Moluccas and Irian Jaya), Philippines, and Northern Marianas (Saipan).

Hello Ram,
I remember your previous post of this pretty species of butterfly. What impressed me most was the very tiny golden specks throughout their dark wings, giving them a sort of metal flake appearance. This particular shot gives us a great look at those unique flecks in exceptional detail. White balance looks perfect, showing us the attractive natural colors of both butterfly and plant.
It's also kind of neat the way the serrated leaf tip is positioned directly center between both bottom wings.
Well done!!

Hello Ram!
Hope you are fine. This is an excellent close-up of common Mormon. Great selection of POV and a very fine use of camera's flash. Black as well as white are well balanced, great sharpness and an excellent contrast with a darker BG that seems to include the butterfly's shadow and that rose bush it is hanging on to. Well done and thank you for sharing,
Best Regards,
