I had captured this butterfly in our yard. Light was in my favor. The Common Palmfly(Elymnias hypermnestra) is a species of Satyrid butterfly found in the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. The Common Palmfly presents a precostal cell on the hindwings and a hair tuft of androconial scales on dorsal discal cell of hindwings. Males and females don not look alike. Males exhibit black colored upperside forewings with small blue patches and reddish-brown color on upperside hindwings, while the females mimic butterfly species of the genus Danus.

Hi Sri,
Wonderful, pleasantly composed macro with gorgeous lights, colors and excellent sharpness. Quite spectacular DoF also, a pity you didn't upload the exif file to let us know the f-number. Anyway, perfect shot! Bravo!
Best regards, László

Hello Srikumar,
well describing, well composed image in pleasant natural colours. Interesting to see that the butterflies patterns together with the spotted leaves are doing a good job to visually dissolve the butterfly's shape.
Also the point of view is well chosen to get the whole butterfly sharp within depth of field, but it might have been chosen just a little bit lower in order to avoide the butterfly's upper outlines having an almost exact coincidence with the leave's upper outlines from the background.
A contribution that is both pleasant to look at, and well informing to me. Thank you!
With best regards,

Hello Srikumar,
What a beautiful butterfly you have presented to us. I love the brightly colored orange wings with white splotches intermingled throughout, almost like snow on a mountain. The focus is tac sharp resulting in wonderful detail. The leaves that it is perched on are also very pretty with specks of yellow like bits of golden sunshine. A pleasure to view!!

Hi Srikumar!
Very good shot of this beautiful butterfly. Its not easy to take a good shot of it because of complex pattern on its wings. I have tried many times but in vain. Lovely green surroundings and a fine diagonal framing. Thanks for sharing,
Best Regards,

Ciao Srikumar, great macro of fantastic butterfly, wonderful colors, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
