[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first encounter with this species of Blues. I normally don't use my Sigma 18-200mm lens for macro photography. Today I had no alternative but to use it. I guess it has done a good job.

The Common Pierrot (Castalius rosimon) is a small butterfly found in South Asia that belongs to the lycaenids, or blues family.

Distribution

Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Tenasserim extending into the Malayan Subregion. In the Indonesian archipelago, the butterfly occurs in NE Sumatra, East Java, Bali, Bangka, Timor, Wetar, Kissar, Sumbawa and Sulawesi.

In India the butterfly is found in peninsular India, south of the outer ranges of the Himalaya except in desert tracts, East India, the North West Himalayas and Assam. The butterfly is also found in the Andaman Islands and South Nicobar Islands.

Hello Ram,
This is a new species of blue for me and what a beautiful specimen at that. The wing markings are very pretty and I like their off yellowish white color. Nicely captured on this bright orangish bloom while displaying excellent detail. The exposure is just right and your f6.4 aperture resulted in good DOF.
Ron

Hello Ram

You obtained a great DOF ans superb image quality with your DSLR lens,
and I can be in mistake, I don't remember have seen in TN flower petals
with that pose and great DOF, with its color tones it is part of the beauty
of the color tones, and congratulations for your first time with this species, TFS
