[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I shot this first Moth of the season today morning. It landed on the parapet of my house terrace in a shaded area and I had to use fill flash to take this picture.

Amata bicincta is a species of moth in the genus Amata (or Syntomis) of the family Arctiidae ("wooly bears" or "tiger moths"). It is also known as nine-spotted moth and handmaiden moth. It is a common day-flying warningly colored moth. The adult is unpalatable to birds and other predators. It is found in the north-western Himalayas, Sikkim, Khasis and Bangladesh.

Hello Ram,
A great shot of this beautiful metallic blue moth. I like the intermingled white markings on its wings as well as the yellow bands on its abdomen and head. Very sharp focus revealing much detail. Your flash illuminated the shadowed areas quite nicely. Well done!!

Hello Sir,

I have never seen a colorful moth like this in my life. For me moths were always dull and brown in color. The photo is sharp (though the left wing span is a bit out of focus) but the colors are wonderful and natural.

Thanks for sharing.
