Crocothemis servilia Male
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I'm gradually getting the hang of my new equipment. Today morning, I once again took several pictures of dragonflies on my school campus. No luck with butterflies thus far. Alarmed to notice that very few butterflies are flying around here in Jammu.|
This is a male Scarlet Skimmer I shot today using my new Nikkor 40mm Micro lens. I am finding manual focus in close-up photography with this lens much better.
Hope you too like this picture.

The branch is helping to frame the insect. The point of view is showing the details of the Dragonfly. The sharpness is very. The light is giving vivid colors. Have a nice dya.

Hi Ram,just a pity for the red background that isn't the best to create a contrast with the red dragonfly, but the quality of sharpness is absolutely excellent another time. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano
It's true the contrast is a little bit low due to the background, it's true the branch seems a little overexposed - but the pose of the dragonfly is so spectacular that the viewer (at least me) can easily forget those minor difficulties. Very interesting, I've never seen a dragonfly in this position. Interesting and educational shot, I mean I again learned something new. Thanks for that.
Kind regards from Ireland, László
