Hi,

This is common castor, common butterfly here of 45-60 mm. Outer edge of wings with rounded serration. Wing brown with highly waved black lines. Commonly found in the hills and forested areas.

I liked the pattren on the wings, but was little unluckly with the lighting , may be i could have used a reflector, any way this is the best picture i had of this so i am uploading , Planning to vist park tomorrow, lets see whether i'll be lucky with this ( if i get one!)

Even with the existing light, it looks good to me, Goutham. The essential characteristics stand out sharp and clear.

Nice photo!
A bit darker, but shows well the shapes and parterns of the wings.

There is a beautiful light coming from behind the butterfly in your picture, adding quite a mysterious touch to it. Definitely no reason for being unhappy about it, Goutham.
Both the transparency and the colours of the wings come out very well. Details, and diagonal composition, the combination of soft and warm colours are excellent. The background is perfect, too. Very good contribution. Thank you for it. Best regards,

Lighting might not have been ideal, however, you have managed to make the most of it and details, colors, POV and composition are wonderful.

Is this a castor bean plant that it is resting on, perhaps it one of the reasons for the name?
