|This is Souparnika.. The holy river near the temple Mookambika, Kolloor, Karnataka, India|
Its originating from the deep forests of the Western Ghats, (you will get excellent information about the Western Ghats from this website http://wgbis.ces.iisc.ernet.in/biodiversity/welcome.htm
The temple itself situated in a small town in the midst of forest.
Nowadays the Souparnika and Mookambika temple area is facing serious ecological problems due to increase in the number of pilgrims, pilgrimage tourism, plastics etc
This river is highly polluted with the plastics and biological wastes from the hotels on the banks..
If we ignore that problem...WE MUST HAVE TO FACE THE DEATH OF ANOTHER RIVER..
