A young Komodo Dragon (Varanus Komodoensis) spotted up a dead tree. The smaller dragons all stay above ground level in trees and shrubs to avoid their larger counterparts. The adults regularly feed on the youngsters when they get the chance.
Note the much brighter spotted skin compared to the adults.
I was lucky to spot this as it lay motionless some 9 feet (3m) above the ground. We only spotted it when we heard the chirruping of a clearly unhappy gecko from the same tree...
