This is a Papilio peranthus. Found them mating. What better moment than this to capture two lovely butterflies. Thanks, Kiran Vasudeva.

Hello Kiran,
you captured this couple of
-- Papilio peranthus

very well. Pretty good sharpness and nice point of view. Did you take a picture of the beautiful wing upperside with the blue-green iridescent band?
Best wishes, Peter

Hello Kiran

A beautiful photo of these butterflies. The DOF and POV is excellent.Perfect focus, with razor sharp details and sharpness.TFS

Hello Kiran,

What a superb macro photograph of these two beautiful lovers! And a great timing too! I wish we also had this lovely species where I live! You are lucky to have such a wide variety of butterflies in your country!

Outstanding! There is nothing I could do to improve your composition! You kept it simple with no distracting objects and the excellent, OOF background isolates the butterflies very well! I also appreciate the fact that you included a part of the plant that supports them! Very well done!

You captured amazing dark hues which are very well readable against the green color tones in the background! What could make a better background for a pair of mating butterflies then the green foliage of their environment? The dark spots in the background balance the picture very well!

The contrast is excellent to bring out the shapes of the butterflies even more! It also emphasizes the textures of the wings!

It seems it was pretty dark when you took the picture since you used the flash! You haven't provided much informations about the shooting conditions but I think you took the picture in a shady place, maybe forest and the use of the flash to illuminate the foreground allowed you to capture this beautiful, rather dark background. I might be wrong but whatever you did the result is fantastic! Great details even in shade! Very well done!

Just on the subjects! You controlled the DOF very well to keep sharpness consistent throughout the foreground while everything behind is blurred!

A very good work! Some more informations on this species and shooting conditions would have been useful! Thank you for sharing!

With Friendly Regards,
