I believe this is a common darter, captured near a water pond. OE spots at its left eye is due to light reflection from water surface.

Just cropped to improve composition, framed, and resized.

Hope you like it.

Outstanding macro with incredible sharpness and detail. Excellent exposure. Great DOF and background.

I wonder Ben, where its real eyes are actually. Are they the big colorful one or the little dark spots near the nose? This is a very unusual POV from me as it looks more at a mouse that a dragonfly actually :) This is super but I still wonder about its eyes... :)

I do like it! Very well done. Sharpness, colour, and composition are all excellent. I like Dragon Flies, they eat mosquitoes!

Well done!

Wow Benny, amazing close up, rich in details.

Hello Benyamin,

This is a great macro shot, excellent capture with wonderful details, this is top quality!

Best regards,

Nice macro, good detail... could do with something like "high pass filter" sharpening to really bring out the detail and textures.

Hi Benyamin,

A great capture with good focussing on the eyes, the composition, pose and colors of this dragon fly are great, however I think I would have used my flash in this shot which would have given better contrasts (but thats me),well done and TFS,we have to wait a bit more on the arrival of the dragon overhere,TFS

I will be back

Hi Ben.
Very interesting and perfect done macro shot. Unusual and expressive lighting and created by it light effects. DOF, sharpness and details are excellent too. Fantastic exposure time. The dragonfly has appeared very patient. Bravo and my compliments.

Outstanding image Ben.

You have captured the detail magnificently and this must have been a challenge to get him resting in one place long enough for you to photograph him so close. Excellent attention to detail with your camera settings leaving us wondering how the specimen kept still for that long! However it has worked and worked well for along with the narrow aperture with have nearly all the darter in sharp focus.

Nice colours and interesting crop, though I might have left more space below to allow his pincers to be visible (not sure how long they are so might not have been feasible or as aesthetically pleasing)

Nice work here my friend,

Hi Ben,
That rocks! What a cool macro shot. I love the composition and tightcrop. Colors and detail look excellent. Very nice!

Hi Benand very sorry for the delay

Nice to see you back and posting! ;)
The magnification level here is great and i love to see all those little details and textures on this dragonfly's eyes and face.
The POV is excellent and the DOF is impeccable, keeping everything well in focus, despite the close-up level.
The colors are lovely, too and the composition and framing are great!
The only thing i would have tried is to get some more light on the left side, too...to fill it in a bit better.
Even so, very well done!

Bravo and TFS

Amazing macro Ben! I would have preferred to have seen that
lower area to show both appendages, left as well as right...
A less tight crop.

The lil black knobs next to the eyes are a fascinating detail.
Tfs, Jay
