Hi James,
well i for one want to thank you, for showing us such a diverse and wide ranging number of places, most of which i doubt i will ever visit. I personally think your contribution to TN has been invaluable and hope you continue for at least 200 more!
Anyway, another top quality natural scene here, these Snow Monkeys look quite at home in their little den. Excellent exposure and some fine detail - well done!

Hallo James
I have been looking at your portfolio and you have such a variety of photos in your gallery from all over the world. You really are a very fortunate person to have the opportunity to visit these countries. The image you share with us to celebrate your 200th posting is really stunning. I must be honest to say that I am actually lost for words. This is such a cute image, but in the same I feel so sorry for these animals. I know that they are used to these conditions but still it looks so bitterly cold out there. The little ones face is so adorable and I can see many humanlike characteristics coming through. At least their fur looks quite warm and is adequate to protect them from the cold. The expression on both their faces is priceless. It was a real pleasure to look at. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Dear James,
Firstly, congratulations on your 200th post. I wish you many hundreds shots on TN. Up to now, you have shared many great shots from all over the world. Thanks for again.
As for this capture, this famous Japanese macaque which you posted another pose several days ago is a great model. They in cold and under snow gave very sympatic pose to you. You also captured them perfectly. Like focus, POV, composition; white balance great. Notes always great and informative. Thanks for sharing.
well done my friend

Hi James!
Hmm, your autoportrait of a photographer is too severe: I'm always happy and pleased to look at your wonderful pictures and their richness. It's so surprising to see where you already have been. I'm a bit jalous... I would like to travel much more, but I can't. So I get impressions from many countries through your pictures!
Kind regards
Markus

Hi James,
A great capture for this occasion, yeah, packing bags is sometimes a crime,I always take my tripod in my main luggage, but what yo as well can consider is to purchase a beanbag, maybe heavy to walk around all day,but if you are photographing from a vehicle it is working great, you can fly with an empty bag and fill it up with rice ,beans or whatever on location, anyway thanks for this picture and to look at your travelscheme,we can expect somethings this year, thanks

First of all congratulations on 200 posts James. And secondly I agree with Paul, your contribution to TN is invaluable.
This photo is outstanding in IMHO. Both primates exhibit human-like/thoughtful expressions..one wonders how they actually see the world around them. Not that I want to get inside the monkeys head ;}
The natural framing works very nicely, and you have excellent detail, color, exposure, and POV in this well composed image.
Very well done,
Howard

Hello James,
I reckon this is just the start of your personal gallery? A very nice image and I have the feeling that you have a few more to choose from ;-)
And about a tripod. Well, I think it's a matter of what your intentions are in photography. Snapshots from trips are often fine enough to tell a story to family & friends. For myself, as a biologist I use my images to support presentations I give. Nothing more, nothing less. I feel the quality is sufficient for that. Some good friends of mine have aspirations to take the ultimate shots, by using tripods, bean bags, aquaria, shelters etc etc. Dunno, I don't think I feel like carrying all that stuff. Better take another SD card and shoot as much as ye can :-)

Hi James,
you are probably one of the least-lazy person on TN!
I don't think anyone has travelled to as many countries as you!
You have showed us many never-before-seen-on-TN animals and some truly stunning landscapes throughout your 200 posts!
This photo is very nice :)
They look cosy and warm in their little den!
Very good image quality.
I am looking forward to another 200 posts from you :)
Well done,
Joe

Hi James,
Congratulations on your milestone! You have continulously presented us with unusual sights and I look forward to the next 200. This was a good choice - once again showing us something few of us will see. The Snow monkeys surrounded by the white stuff are wonderful. I love the looks on their faces.

Quite good James...You certainly had the good eye when imaging the monkeys...it seems as you might have had some attachment to them...no...not as opposed creation:-) I mean an emotional feeling..it shows in your images in the eyes of the subjects...well done.

Hi James, I am in awe too of many people on TN and I am in awe of your talent and your pictures as well, a lot! This is so beautiful, you captured a moment of tenderness. When I look at it, I can almost feel the first humans in caverns looking at snow. You managed to shoot those monkeys in something intimate, and the colour of their fur in the snow is touching. I am looking forward all these travels you are planning for us to see your pictures. Thank you!

Hi James,
Congratulations with number 200. You know, I actually thought that you has passed this marker already a long time ago. You posted so many wonderful photos that I lost track.
This is a real beauty. Especially the look on the younster is very cute. I really like how the monkeys are framed by the thick layer of snow.

Hello James,
I think it is first time I see this combination!
Orginality well suited for celebrating #200, my congratulations!
This is a well balanced composition, but even more interesting is the expression in their eyes... They are about as happy for snow as I am!

Hello James,
I share you sentiments about carrying equipment through the airports. Add to that all the camping gear for backpacking, and it's hellish. I'm also afraid that someday some security person will drop my camera on the floor. I'm jealous you get to travel so much. Wonderful photo of the snow monkeys. Superb exposure job. All the best,

What ab great shot it really is.
So full of atmosphere and the title is like you have actually read the thoughts of that youngster.
The snowy frame really focusses your eyes on the main characters adn the colour contrasts are great.
