Well - I have reached another milestone here on TN. I have decided to mark the occasion with another Snow Monkey shot. I have uploads loads of information abot these Macaques previously, so I am not going to do it again.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and kind messages - I am still answering them.

I hope you like this posting - I particularly liked the two young monkeys. It was a bitterly cold day. I tried taking shots with gloves on, but it did not work for me, so I kept taking photographs until my fingers would not work, warmed them up again and started taking more!

Dear James,
This is a priceless composition that you present to us marking your 300th post in TN.
There is originality in every bit of this composition..reflecting the bitterness, the pain and the struggles to persevere in this game of survival called life. The expression on the face of the protagonists are captivating. The look on each one is a story unto itself. The snow, i feel,is the most authentic element in this shot that triggers a thoughtful process deep inside. It falls relentlessly ...
Your side of the story and perseverance in creating this composition adds to the human connect.
Truly one of the best works i have come across in TN that portray and relate to human thinking, emotions and realities of life. And for that very reason i would love to add this to my favourites collection.

Thanks a ton for sharing this and may God stregthen and sustain your mind and spirit to keep up the creative James in you.

Warm regards

Congrats on the 300 James, all of them a pleasure to view as we've journeyed with you around the globe! This one speaks for itself really, awesome.

Hello James, it may have been an incredibly cold day, but this is an incredibly warm scene. I love the focus on those front three monkeys, with the muting of the fourth on the left, with your use of the depth of field. The detail seen on the first three is incredible, right down to that snow flake on the mothers cheek.

Congratulations on #300 James. This shot is a very excellent choice for a milestone such as this.

Thanks, John

This is the most touching scene from your series on these monkeys from Japan, James.
Poor things, they are immersed in water. Does it make them feel warmer?
Excellent shot bringing out the misery of these creatures.
TFS and regards.

Hello James,

First, congratualations on this great achievement and thank you for sharing all your wonderful shots from around the world!

Secondly, what a great shot! I am amazed to see these monkeys in the water, in the snow! Was the water warm? Two look to have that lovely relaxed appearance of being in a bath, or were they just too cold to move!

Superb details with excellent composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

This whole scene is a milestone of a picture in itself, James. I am touched a lot and congratulations for your 300th picture on TN, you couldn't pick a better picture to do so. The softness of this scene is so serene and moving. The beautiful water at the foreground with the reflection of the two "kids", the mother's glance afar and the other monkey, in the back, seemingly busy looking for fleas??!!! Furthermore, the snow gently falling and the dim and grey light are simply breathtaking. I am impressed and delighted. Thank you and congratulations to you!

Congratulations on your 300th, James. I wish you many hundred shots on TN. I also remember these friends from your previous great posts. This is one of the best photographes of them. Great timing, superb colors, POV and composition. Great focus too. Thanks for sharing, best wishes my friend

Hi James,
Wow........what a shot to mark your 300th. Outstanding shot with such sharpness and clarity. The expression on the mother's face and the sleeping kids looks fantastic. The snow flakes add so much more to the image. Simply majestic. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

Hi James,
A bit late, but congratulations on the 300th post. It is another stunner of the Macaques series with again a very cute expression.

Hello James!
This is wonderful picture of snow monkey family. I like especially the two kids :) Lovely details and fantastic DOF. Nothing to add my Friend!
Best greetings from Lodz! And see you again in TN gallery in two weeks! :)
Friendly yours,

Hi James. We are back for the summer. Congratulations on 300! I suspect you might also be recognized for the most variety in your gallery both in subjects and locations. I really like this shot. They don't look particularly happy, but the photo is wonderful. Those poor cold little ones look as if they are trying to submerge themselves in what I suppose is warmer water temp. than air temp. ad at the same time not drown. Nice work.
