no its not corn, it is a fruiting inflorescence of Arisaema, some of the small fruits are already dispersed. We found these plants to be common in Japan.

They might be common in Japan but this plant looks like nothing I know! It looks so strange. The picture is sharp and very interesting. TFS,

Hi Ori,
this is a fascinating looking plant and one until now I have never seen.It may not be corn but sure has kernels somewhat like corn, which brings me to the question,is it edible? The colour is very good and the focus is good overall for this unusual looking plant. Thanks for sharing something different. Bob

Hello Ori,

This is a very interesting photo. There are so nice colors with high contrast and high stauration. I presume the seeds are small but well shown in your photo.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Hello Ori,
What an interesting Arisaema species! The seeds look rather like sweetcorn. Excellent close-up, sharp details and beautiful colours.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Ori
Great close-up composition with stunning colours
Well done
Albert

Hi Ori,

Nice shot of this fruit cluster, and a very interesting plant. We have 2 species of Arisaema here, A. triphyllum and A. dracontium, both have fruiting bodies similar to that with the head of red berries, but not the black structure beneath.

Thanks,
John

Hello Ori
What an interesting subject, with wonderful colours and detail. Focus, sharpness and framing is just splendid. The older I get the more I realise that there is still such a lot I have still to learn and see. Trek Nature is indeed a wonderful and educational site.
Kind regards.

Hello Ori !
Wow, that's something beautiful I have never seen before ! It really looks like some strange species of corn, to me, but well, it isn't. Excellent details, nice natural colors, beautiful composition and POV, wonderful blurred BG, and I also like the contrast between black and red. Very well done !
Valerie.
