[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Duck's married couple seemed to look for food on the pond, and was moving about in pond happily. Cherry blossoms scattered on water, and atmosphere that seemed to be spring was drawn out.

(p.s.)
Form:
The length is 50-65cm. The length at opening is 75-100cm as for the wing. The male at the breeding time is doing a body of a yellow beak and green head and a white collar, the iron gray, and the burnt umber and vivid body colorations. The female is a bitter orange, a black in the surgical knife, and the whole body is almost covered with the feather that there is a framing of the tan in the ground of the burnt umber.

Living area:
Non-breeding time lives in lakes and marshes, the river, and the coast. The crowd is formed and it lives. The male and famale goes together in spring, and it extends to the breeding area. The breeding time lives in a meadow etc. lakes and marshes, the pond, and the marsh peripheral.

Food:
The plant food mainly eats the food habit. It eats the leaf, the stalk of the water plant, and the seed and the shellfish etc. of the plant.

Motion:
It is good to swim in the surface of the water. However, it is not possible to dive. The appearance in which food is taken by poking one's head inside in water, and standing on one's head is seen well.

Habitat region:
It is widely distributed from the microthermal climate of the northern hemisphere in the temperate zone, and the one that breeds in the north extends to the south in winter and is passed.

Hello Mikio,
A nice capture of a pair of Northern Shovellers nicely composed on the water with floating cherry blossom petals. The from-above POV shows features of these ducks not otherwise seen with nice sharpness and natural colours.
Thanks and kind regards,
Ivan

Hi Mikio,
a very artistic picture of these two Northern Shoveler. I really like the flower petals on the water and the ducks swimming between them. Great colours too.
