Little Egret swallowing a small fish
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This photograph was taken in Shinobazu pond in Ueno, Taito-ku, Tokyo. When I was taking a walk the promenade along a pond, the little egret was found on the edge of the pond. It turned the beak to the direction of a pond, and it was walking slowly on the long foot, sometimes stopping. Probably, it tends to capture the small fish which is present in a pond. It was walking along the edge of a pond, sometimes it flew and moved to the islet in a pond, and was doing the same operation. This photograph catches by chance the moment a little egret catches and swallows at one gulp a small fish. It seems that this action is repeated for a while until it fills a belly and eats small fish when I observed well the habit of the little egret. |

I really like the composition of the photo. By cropping just above the head, the already long legs go on forever.
The leaves floating in the clear, clean water add interest to the image. The natural colours make it a pleasure to view your work.
I add your photo to my theme "animals feeding". Thanks for sharing
