Bienvenida a TN Elaine.
Bonita mariposa... lástima el fondo sobre el que está posada, que confunde un poco su imagen.
Bellos colores y buena nitidez.
Sería conveniente que siempre acompañaras tus imágenes de una nota complementaria.
Welcome to TN Elaine.
Pretty butterfly... pity the bottom on which is put, that confuses a little its image.
Beautiful colors and good clearness.
He would be advisable that always you accompanied your images by a complementary note.

Beautifull butterfly but the bottom...
Welcome on TN Elaine. Very nice first post of a little beauty. Very nice colours and very detailed. Would have been better with another background, but it was not your choice.
I think it is possible to get more out of the picture so I dared to make a little WS to try - hope you don't mind.
Also a little note about the place it was taken, habitats, name etc. would be very appreciated.

A nice background so I like the original. The diagonal pattern and contrast in colour make the butterfly interesting to focus on whilst distracting patterns usually have the opposite effect.I think this is because this betterfly has a subtle pattern and is contrasted against the hard edge surface of the mat

Hello Elaine,
This is the male of Vindula dejone erotella(The Cruiser)!
Very good capture of this beautiful butterfly.
The two sexes of this butterfly have different colours on the wing; the male is a rich fulvous orange brown, whilst the female is pale greenish grey. There is a short tail on the hindwing.
Males of this species are often found feeding on urine-tainted soil or at damp seepages. Both sexes are attracted to flowering bushes of the Prickly Lantana (Lantana camara).
The Cruiser is relatively common in Singapore, and can often be spotted in the nature reserves. The distinctive male cannot be mistaken for any other butterfly in Singapore.
