Nymphaeaceae
Water lilies like muddy water bed and plenty of sunshine. Here in Malaysia, where sunshie is abundance and surrounding padi fields near Gunung Keriang offer a good habitat. This shot is taken at an irrigation canal. You could see that the water is clear and some other aquatic plants live. What I like most is the multi colours and tones of the leaves and its long stalks that allow the leaves to float quite far from the centre.
Here are some notes from Wikipedia _
Nymphaeaceae is a family of flowering plants. Members of this family are commonly called water lilies and live in freshwater areas in temperate and tropical climates around the world. The family Nyhmpaeaceae contains 8 genera. There are about 70 species of water lilies around the world[1]. The genus Nymphaea contains about 35 species across the Northern Hemisphere. The genus Victoria contains two species of giant water lilies and can be found in South America[1]. Water lilies are rooted in soil in bodies of water, with leaves and flowers floating on the water surface. The leaves are round, with a radial notch in Nymphaea and Nuphar, but fully circular in Victoria.
Water lilies are divided into two main categories: hardy and tropical. Hardy water lilies bloom only during the day, but tropical water lilies can bloom either day or night, and are the only group to contain blue-flowered plants.
Water lilies can be fragrant, such as Nymphaea odorata. The beautiful nature of water lilies has led to their widespread use as ornamental plants. The Mexican water lily, native to the gulf coast of North America, is planted throughout the continent. It has escaped from cultivation and become invasive in some areas, such as California's San Joaquin Valley. It can infest slow moving bodies of water and is difficult to eradicate. Populations can be controlled by cutting top growth. Herbicides can also be used to control populations using glyphosate and fluridone .

Hi Foozi,
A striking and very appealing presentation!
I like the extra wide composition and the framing.
Perhaps the colours are a little bit over saturated, which turns the picture more suitable for TL or an art form of picture rather than a nature one.
Good work and thanks for share it.
Best regards,
JM

The colors are amazing and you have a wonderful composition. Nice detail in this beautiful scene!

Assalamualaikum Foozi. This is beautifully framed. The leaves in different colors and the flowers in perfect off centered position is brilliant on top of the turquoise water surface. I like you work with well metered lighting here. Best regards. Jusni

Hello Foozi,

Lovely rich colours!
The water plants make a sine pattern on the surface, contrasting well with the deep blue...
Good details and an attractive frame!

Greetings,

Hi Foozi

I really like this image as it has a very special visual impact. Lavishly rich colours and a myriad of interesting objects captured in a fascinating composition make the eyes pop from one object to another in a delightful journey of discovery. However, I constantly find my attention drawn back to the exceptional beauty of the water lilies. The excellent exposure brings out the contrasts between the various underwater objects, the reeds in the BG and the various coloured leaves. Great stuff.

Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot
