(Stachyris nigriceps) 黑头穗鹛
Size: 15 cm
Location: Bukit Tinggi (Pahang)
Distinguished with difficulty from other babblers by its pale malar stripe, contrasting with its grey throat.
A high-pitched, rattling whistle pree-pree-eee.
Mainly a lower montane species that found in rainforest from 300 – 1800m elevations; also found in the lowlands, in its northern range. A typical shy babbler and always staying within cover. It moves through the lower storey in primary forest or forest edges, usually just off the ground. It often spotted together with other birds in bird waves, but good views are difficult.
Oriental region. A locally fairly common resident in montane parts of the region.

Hello Ang Hwee,
The best photo of this species I've ever seen, although it's not totally sharp. Very beautiful colours in a pleasing pose.
