Grey-Chinned Minivet
(Pericrocotus solaris)
Size: 17 cm
Location: Fraserís Hill (Pahang)

Description:
A small, dark grey and scarlet, arboreal bird with grey cheeks. Male has a greyer than scarlet above with obvious grey cheeks and chin and orange-yellow throat. Similar shaped red patch in wings. Female is similar to female Long-Tailed Minivet but lacks yellow on super cilia and forehead.

Voice:
A thin tsee sip.

Habits:
Inhabits hill forests. It feeds actively, mainly in tree canopy in small, calling parties. Sonetimes it briefly descends to eye level. It eats insects and nest high in trees.

Hi Ang,

Beautiful bird & very finely captured. The color of the bird is nice. I've also captured the pair of these bird few days back but was not the best shot. Well done & TFS.
