Verditer Flycatcher (Male)
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
Location: Fraserís Hill / Bukit Tinggi (Pahang)
Size: 17 cm
Distinguished from other blue flycatchers by its uniform greenish-blue plumage; note the black lores of the male contrast with its turquoise head; the faint pale scales on vent.
A soft but penetrating warbler.
Mainly resident in hilly terrain. In Thailand, occurs from lowlands to upper montane elevations. Tropical birds are sedentary. Easy to spot as it often perches high in the open near forest edge, singing and flying out to catch insects in the air.

since the time i saw this bird in a bird sanctuary near to my place, i felt in love with it. i find this bird very attractive and worth spending time in watching it. the colour blue is my favourite colour in birds. apart from that, the black kajal in the eyes of this bird is very tempting. the blue in the female is not that gorgeous as in the male. this one is better.
liked your photograph. good clarity.
