Mountain Bulbul

Size: 24 cm
Location: Fraserís Hill (Pahang)

Description:
A large, olive and rufous bulbul with shaggy brown crown. Cheeks and breast pale rufous-streaked with buff. Throat streaked white and often puffed out. Belly and vent buff. Under-parts are olive green and with long powerful bill. Sexes are alike.
Voice:
Noisy with a variety of calls. Most commonly a metallic tsyi tsyi and cheep har lee.

Habits:
Inhabits forest and secondary growth with scattered trees, feeding mainly on fruit, mostly in canopy. Itís usually in pair or small groups. It nests high in tree.

Distribution:
Oriental region. A common resident in northern parts of the region, excluding Hong Kong and in montane Peninsular Malaysia; locally abundant.
