Proud Fantail and its nest.
Fantails are small insectivorous birds of southern Asia and Australasia belonging to the genus Rhipidura in the family Rhipiduridae. Most of the species are about 15 to 18 cm long, specialist aerial feeders, and named as "fantails", but the Australian Willie Wagtail, is a little larger, and though still an expert hunter of insects on the wing, concentrates equally on terrestrial prey.

The true wagtails are part of the genus Motacilla in the family Motacillidae and are not close relatives of the fantails.

The fantail looks great but the background seems to bit tampered and it shows up clearly which is not going well with the image. You should be very careful while working on natural images. tfs.

Hello Foozi,
The best photo of a Pied Fantail, Rhipidura javanica, I've seen so far. The colours of the bird, sharpness, pose and composition are all excellent. The BG is a bit OE by the sharp light.

Hi Foozi, you manage very well the time of exposure!A great sharpness in this terrible background! And what a beautiful bird! My best compliments, have a nice day,LUCIANO.

Hi Foozi,
This is very different to our New Zealand Fantails (Rhipidura fuliginosa).
Ours our much rounder, more like a tit, with much daintier feet.
A good capture of this one with backlight.

Hi Foozi.
I like pictured bird. It is very cute as well as the whole scene. Despite the light BG colouration of the shot and details as well as exposure are excellent. Mi kind regards and warm greetings.

Hello Foozi !
Such a wonderful bird ! I love its long big tail, and he's also very elegant and yes, he seemsto be proud of his nest ! :-) The picture is very nicely composed, with lovely details on the bird and natural colors. Very well done !

Hi Foozi,

The branches are framing well the bird. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the proud fantail. The surrounding light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.
