This violet carpenter bee (xylocopa violacea) kept on hanging around that branch, even disturbed by my appearance.

He's a bit battered in the wings. Nice detail and pose from the bee.
We used to go to Bukit Melawati, back in the late 60's and very early 70's, to visit the old fort up there and to see the monkeys.
