[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My today's shot features a stunningly beautiful butterfly called Dead leaf, Oakleaf or Orange Oakleaf butterfly. With closed wings it does resemble a dead or dry leaf and often mixes up well with the number of surroundings it prefers to sit or hide. I will post a shot of it with closed wings in coming days. With open wings it is a treat to watch. Glossy blue and purple with vibrant orange makes a fascinating combination.

Regarding quality of my shot i am not satisfied as far as sharpness and details are concerned (as compared to previous few shots of butterflies). The main reason is the large size of this butterfly. It was largest of all butterflies (with open wings) in KL bird park. My bridge camera with a fairly large lens wasn't able to get a desired focus. Moreover the butterfly was in a bit shady area with low light and my canon is not a champion performer in low light conditions. Though i was able to get a good focus, one can observe a little soft details in the middle portion of my subject.

hello Akbar,
Very colorful and beautifully shaped butterfly. I have seen this species in our butterfly-world. But not the same to see it in nature! Good picture considering that you used a bridge-camera.

Akbar, the colour reproduction of this orange leaf in open wings position is spot on, especially the silver blue iridescence. Thou lacking in detail a nice picture to look at.

I am amazed at the large number of gorgeous butterflies you have in your country, this one is simply stunning to view. I really like the unusual shape of it's wings and the rich contrasting colors. The metallic blue and the orange with black bars is eyecatching to say the least. Awesome specimen!!
