[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi Folks,
Weaver ants (genus Oecophylla) are social insects belonging to the ant family, known for their communication and nest building behaviour. They have complex bio-chemical communication and make elaborate nests out of living tree-leaves.
Found in the tropical forests of Africa, Australia and southeast Asia, they may be colored a shade of red.
This species is known for its painful, irritating bite but not as venomous and fiery as fire ants sting which inject a toxic alkaloid venom. - wikipedia
Thanks for viewing & have a great WE

Assalamualaikum Tuan. Dah mengundi ke belum?
Excellent close up as always of this red-ant. You have done well in capturing this small ant and allowing her to taste a bite is interesting. I can see the details of the bite here and again, very well done. Regards. Jusni

Hi Agoes, this is your skin?
Good and sharp focus especially at the head and the mandible is well seen.
I like the extended abdomen (although blur), that shows the action and how fierce this Weaver ant is.
TFS and wassalam,
/Redzlan/.
