Heliconiaceae (Heliconia family).

Parakeet can grow 3' to 6' ( 0.9m to 1.80m )high in full sun to 40% of shade. Infloresecence 4 to 5 bracts, cream-yellow over most of bract, shading to red or pink towards tip. Sepals are yellow with dark green band and white tip.
