Papilio demoleus - - Thanks to Ivan & Goutham for ID
I was walking around my work place, and then a gardener told me that there was a beautiful butterfly perching on the palm tree nearby. I asked him how beautiful is beautiful?
He said as beautiful as "batik" clothes. Batik is is our national design for formal and official functions.
Malaysian government civil servants have to wear batik every Thursday.

THE Lime Butterfly (Papilio demoleus malayanus) is a very common species which occurs in northeast Arabia, India and Sri Lanka, through most of Southeast Asia and the Lesser Sunda Islands to Australia and part of New Guinea. It is not found in Borneo, Java, Sulawesi, Timor and the Moluccas.
As the name indicates, the larval food plant is the lime tree and a wide variety of Citrus. In areas where Citrus species are cultivated they are regarded as pests. I have a tangerine plant ("kart chai") growing in a pot, and the Lime Butterfly often lays eggs on it. Occasionally, I have seen a bulbul picking off the caterpillars from this plant.

This is a tailless swallow tail called as "Common Lime". The picture is well executed , but the antenna has merged with the BG color :-( i was wondering was it due to PP

The gardener knows you well and he had the wonderful idea to arrest your attention. The butterfly is a beauty, and you have put it so well on stage. The vertical composition suits the picture at best and the lighting is perfect.

Hello Foozi,
Yes the patterns and colours of this Common Lime butterfly (Papilio demoleus) could be likened to batik.
You have made a fine capture of this fresh female that will soon lay her eggs on a citrus tree of some kind.
The POV, sharpness and composition against a dark Bg fine, though the antennae have merged with the BG and are difficult to make out.
