Melastoma malabathricum L @ Straits Rhododenron

Edited - Thanks Ivan for the ID.
This shot is taken near the side of padi fields. the rhododenron grows a lot by the side and the green background is the hues of the green fields from distance.
Straits rhododendron is frequently visited by many insects including this species of butterfly.
I saw there were many of this species flying around andd suck the sweets from the fruits.

Fruit a berry-like capsule with numerous seeds coated with red, sweet astringent pulp. Seeds dimorphic – with and without embryo. Fertile seeds folded or spiral, triangular to D-shaped in outline, 0.45-0.8 mm long, 0.35-0.5(0.6) mm wide, 0.17-0.3 mm thick, with sides sloping to central depression created by curve of seed and one face more or less truncate and round to elliptic. Testa light yellow or pale to dark cream-colored, with truncate face black or same color as testa. Surface glistening, dense with minute papillae. Hilar area on truncate face. Embryo linear-curved. Seeds without embryo similar to fertile seeds but smaller, 0.3-0.5 mm long, 0.2-0.3 mm wide, 0.2 mm thick, appearing collapsed, dented, or wrinkled, testa completely black or reddish-black.

Hello Foozi!
Nice to see this isnteresting species of butterfly from so exotic region of Asia. I like profile view and good clarity. Picture is a little too green as for me, but I understant that the BG was natural and looked just like that :>

Hello Foozi,
Excellent capture of this Satyrid butterfly (Evening Brown?), even though it is a bit worn. The OOF paddyfield BG allows him to stand out well with fine sharpness as he feeds on the Straits Rhododendron.
Thanks and all the best,

salam akhi Foozi
I missed your last three posts before last one, since I was in field works. this is very beautiful butterfly and great timing to shot when it feeding on fruits. sharp focus, POV, colors and composition great. I like also plain and green BG. thanks for sharing,
taqaballah your six days' fast.
best regards

Hi Foozi,

The macro view is showing the details and colors of the Satyrid butterfly and of the flower. The blurred background is putting in evidence the insect and the flower. The use of a tripod helped to have precision. Have a nice day.
