[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
PHILIPPINE SCOPS-OWL Otus megalotis. A very beautiful owl with the typically intricate plumage and ear-tufts of a Scops, a black and white frosting on the face and breast and piercing orange eyes. An adult can grow to only 20 cm in height. If I can say this, it is cutest owl I have ever scene.

This is Yoda, an adult owl, surrendered to the wildlife rescue center of SBMA Philippines by a family which once had it as a pet.

Yoda just woke-up for this photoshoot. It's eyes are supposed to be big like those of the other owls. In this photo and all the other photos I took of it, its eyes were squinting. Yoda is so photogenic you might see it again in some other posts I will be making for the next days.

I wish Yoda's eyes were more open to give some eye contact, and maybe a touch more contrast would help. Still a fascinating looking bird.

Great detail in this portrait, a very interesting species.

A spectacular capture of this wonderful predaceous.
Excellent sharpness with pleasant details in the plumage, but I agree with Pesky_Polecat on the lack of contrast of the image be unworthy of the final result slightly.
I made a Workshop applying Autobalance on the image... I hope pleases to you.

Look at the ears on this guy! I like the shot, but it is a bit on the bright side and agree that a bit more contrast should do the trick. Very well done.

Thanks for posting

Very beautiful bird you bring to us. This one is a charachter, the shot really transmits a lot of feeling. I think it is better with Ricardos workshop. Very nice photo, good post Lorie.

Very nice picture Lorie.
Beautiful bird with nice colours and details.
As other mention it's a low contrast, Ricardo did a good WS to show.
