It's good photo of this interesting bird.I like the look of its face and eyes - it's something mysterious in it, maybe even evil.
The sharpness is also good.
The only thing I don't like much is the composition. I think there should be some free space sideways - the bird shouldn't "fill" all photo.

Lots of details, and sharp, but highlights are blown out, perhaps toning it down by a half stop or so would have worked better. Agree that the cut off ears are a bit distracting, but still a striking image.

Another striking owl from Phillipines. Everyday I find the fauna of the Phillipines more bizarre (to me) and exciting , this is the second unusual owl I see (last one looked half owl half hawk) and then I saw you have the bulky eyed tarsisus ... fascinating !

Agree with the other critics about the cropping of the ears, but the subject is fantastic and the quality of the shot very very good. A big welcome to TN. Hope to see more photos and critiques soon.

Good colours and details.
Agree with the others about the ears.

Why did you cut the ears? It would have been perfect....
Good shot good DOF, and good pose.

Welcome here to TN Cathy and I like your first post. This is a beautiful image with good contrast. I personally would not have cropped off the ears.Very well done.
Thanks for posting and I hope to see lots more of your work
