Little Bronze Cuckoo
(Chrysococcyx minutillus) 小金鹃
Size: 15 cm
Description:
Distinguished with difficulty from other small cuckoos by the combination of darker, dull wings and heavy barring. Adult has black bars across the upper-parts.
Voice:
A slow and descending whistle of 3 to 5 notes.
Habits:
Mainly a mangrove and coastal forest bird; also ventures into nearby scrub, plantations and even mature gardens. An inconspicuous bird that seen feeding on insects and larvae at medium level in the coastal woodlands, flying swiftly into the next tree. It’s a nest-parasitic on the Fly-eater and other members of the Gerygone genus.
