|Handsome but deadly aerial predator. That is mr Damselfly, lived neaby to your river bank. It eats flies, mosquitoes, and other small insects. Some of the larger tropical species are known to feed on spiders, hovering near the web and plucking the spider from its nest.|

Wonderful photo of this magnificent insect. The extreme macro blurs the background to make a smooth backdrop to the subject. I also like the fact that you focused on the mandibles of the creature, since that is the focus of your description also.
