[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I went to the riverside quite late at almost 11am in the morning. The sun was shining overhead big & bright time. The herons were not obliging to fly (when it did I missed as usual) - raptors were at BVR ranges beyond my engaging limit of WVR scope. Then came this gull gliding smoothly at me. I took a deep breadth and clicked dour times in a row. Only this one - the last one is palatable - free from shake or AF blur.

Well this is not perfect to say the least. But that's all one could get on first of April [:)]. I was observing birds under a sluice gate control terrace - a usable hide. While the gate was up allowing the city water to mix in the river & giving me a view, it was supported by four iron piers cutting my FOV into three windows. This shot was made too close to one of the piers & hence this queer framing. When looked closely, one can see a curtain effect on the right side, deepening towards the edge, known to nerdy-birders as diffraction .

April Fool's Day - celebrated - with wholesome foolness!

PS: I have improved my ISO rating one stop on advice of Asbed. I shall upgrade it to one or two stops more in future. That's all I am a bit conservative on this.

Not lucky whit the light on the body but a magnificent in-flight capture whit great details and beautiful colors, the light reflections on the water are a beautiful background,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Subhayan, my neighbour today.
This is a really nice photo - true diamond during flight. Amazing colours and composition.
Thanks for sharing,
Maciek

Hallo Subhayan,
a very good capture of this young gull in flight, good sharpness, excellent point of view and very nice composition

Best regards
Maurizio

Hello Subhayan

Because of the back-light not an easy in-flight to do,
you did a great shot having details of the bird's plumage,
for the ISO Subhayan, with a DSLR you can go
even at higher ISOs, try up to 800 ISO, of course
i am talking for in-flight and movement photos,
since i have my new DSLR and because 90% of the
time i shoot movement/in-flight photos, my ISO
setting at that moments it is at ISO 1000,

TFS

Ciao Subhayan. Great flying capture with good details and intrigant light against the amazing BG.
