Around 11.15 am, this beauty was flying swiftly from flower to flower. For the moment, wild passion fruit vines are plenty in this area. Until people come and populate the area, this place is heaven for Lacewing.

Family: Nymphalidae วงศ์ขาหน้าพู่
Genus: Cethosia
Species: Cethosia spp.
Common name: Lacewing
Thai Name: ผีเสื้อกะทกรก
Wingspan: 85-90 mm.
Food plant: Caterpillars feed on Passifloraceae (Passion Fruit Vines)

Hello Jitti
a fine macro capture of this beautiful Nymphalidae from interesting point of view with excellent details, wonderful colors and focusing for a great composition!

Hi Jitti,
These are amazingly fancy insects, so nice to see on TN. This POV makes it very hard to get the whole butterfly in focus, but you have done the right thing here by concentrating on the head and thorax. Best wishes.

Hi Jitti,
A delightful macro capture of this beauty from wonderful POV with excellent lighting, details and DOF.
TFS and cheers,

Hi Jitti,

A wonderful capture of this Lacewing. It must be like the butterflies here who never really settle on a flower. I love the wing positions and the lovely markings. Beautiful colors, fine details and a pretty setting.

Hello Jitti,
An unusual POV with the light shining though the unserside of the wings while the upper surface of the other pair of wings can be seen make this an attractive capture of this Cethosia species of butterfly. The composition, sharpness against an OOF neutral BG add to the attraction.
Thanks and all the best,

Hi Jitti

Good shot of this beautiful butterfly.
Excellent sharpnes, details, and DOF
Good composition and POV

Hello Jitti !
Nice to see you post again - it's been so long long since I last visited your gallery, I'm happy to see you an active member again. I think we all missed your beautiful pictures. This one makes no exception. I love the details as well as the warm summer colors of this photo, and the composition is excellent, and the POV is great, allowing us to have a nice view on the butterfly's head. Splendid blurred BG. Very well done !

Hello JC,

Good angle on the insect that allows us to see both sides of the wings!
Pattern & colours are well reproduced, spot on DoF isolates the butterfly nicely
A fine piece of macro work!

Hello Jitti,
Nice to see this Lacewing in it's natural habitat. Nice sharp colour and detail. It's sad to know humans have taken over some of the area. Well done.
