A rare Truncate Imperial (Cheritrella truncipennis) from the summit of Doi Pui, near Chiang Mai. This is a monotypic genus of Lycaenidae. Found in the mountains of northern India and northern Thailand, presumably its also in Myanmar. Only got three shots, but its nice to get a rare one.....

This is certainly a rare species, Chris. Yet to see it in the Himalayan region.
Your image shows both sides of its wings clearly. The blue on the upper side wings looks divine.
Thanks for sharing this valuable image.

Buen ángulo de disparo que permite ver las dos caras de las alas de esta bella mariposa.

Hallo Chris
Thanks for sharing this rare Truncate Imperial with it bright colours. I very much like the shape of its wings as well as the fact that one can see the inner and outer side of the wings. Best regards.

And you still travels a lot, what I can see.
It's always great to capture a rare species, I know.
Not an easy POV but you managed well with decent sharpness.
Well done, mf.

Hello Chris,
A spectacular Lycaenid, taken from a fine POV to show its half open wings with good clarity and natural colours against a superb leafy natural BG.
This must be new for TN!
Thanks and cheers,
