(Arborophila rufogularis) 红喉山鹧鸪
Size: 27 cm
Location: Mae Wong National Park (Thailand)
Medium-sized grayish partridge with orange-rufous throat and foreneck with large black spots. Underparts grey with bold silver and rufous streaking on flanks. Broad black and buff bars across folded rufous wing. Race intermedia has black chin and throat. Iris brown; bill grey and feet pink.
Loud , clear monotonewhistle leading to series of disyllabic whistle hu-hu, hu-hu….rising gradually in pitch. Partner calls in duet with rapid kew-kew-kew…..
Moist lowland forests and montanes evergreen forests from 1200-2500m.
Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam.

One more lovely image. Cute duo. Nice ambient light and the crisp plumage with catchlight! The DoF was shallow for the other bird, though. Doesn't matter!
