Oriental Great Eggfly Male

|HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL TN FRIENDS!|
It is 1.20 pm today here in Jammu on the first day of the new year 2019. Sadly, I can't show that date on my picture because it is not available yet on the posting panel!!
This male Oriental Great Eggfly was a new year surprise for me. It's so cold here there is no sign of butterflies, so when I noticed this fellow perched on the parapet of my terrace enjoying the mild and weak sunshine on a semi-cloudy day, I thought I was imagining things. However, it was real and flew away after giving me 8 shots at quick succession.
Hypolimnas bolina, the great eggfly, common eggfly or in New Zealand the blue moon butterfly is a species of nymphalid butterfly found from Madagascar to Asia and Australia.
The upperside of the wings is jet black, offset with three pairs of white spots, two on the forewing and one on the hindwing. These spots are surrounded by purple iridescence. In addition, the upperside of the hindwing bears a series of small white dots.
