[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A funny thing happened to me in the butterfly garden of the San José National Museum. I was wearing a royal blue shirt, which, by all accounts, explains what is otherwise inexplicable. There were a dozen or so morpho butterflies flitting about. All of a sudden, one of them (by the way, the opened wings of a morpho are irridescent blue)landed on my shoulder. Then he (she) flitted onto my hand where he (she) began to lick my finger...!
I was so enthralled by all this that I could barely get my camera out of the bag and focus! Imagine...a butterfly landing on my hand and, not only landing...but STAYING!
When I was in college, I remember having bought a poster (un peu ringard, j'admêts) of a butterfly and the caption..."Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase after it, the more it eludes you. But, if you remain quiet and attend to other things, it just might come and land gently upon your shoulder."
Well, folks, this was for me...an indescribably happy moment!!!
Vous pouvez dire que ma photo est "ringarde"...mais je m'en fiche carrément! |

Hi Michael.
Thank you for your nice note and fine shot of this beautiful butterfly. Perfectly composed and illuminated shot allow us to see all details of this beauty. Excellent sharpness, lights and colours. So impressive dark BG. Work with flash (I think you have use flash) is great. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.
