Woh! Here in Venezuela there, although not very copious. It's a really tiny insect nervous. You've made a good effort for this photo, a result good enough to appreciate the chars of this small kind of grasshoppers. I do not know the exact ID, must be difficult to find. Good work!

Hello Lou,
Though a little soft, this is a fine nearly 5-year old macro taken from a good POV that shows the features of this strange grasshopper species with good clarity and colours against a nice contrasting stoney BG. You did well to get close to the ID.

Hope you'll be fine. This is a wonderful little grasshopper, quite unique and beautiful. I have not seen one like it before...and yes, they are so difficult to name, I also face this problem. Magnífica fotografía de este curioso ( y precioso) insecto, tipo saltamontes, que no conocía... supongo que como la mayoría. Bellos colores y fondo aunque con una profundidad de campo algo justa.

Hi Laurens,
This is a very handsome grasshopper.
The details are nice and sharp, and the exposure is good on that black and white tuxedo of his.
The side POV also gives a good view of the markings on this unusual insect.
While in Monte Verde, I came across this gigantic purple grasshopper.
I had a hard time finding his name as well.
