Scarlet Macaws (Ara macao)
Macaws are the biggest of the parrots in the world. They have a very powerful beak that can chew very hard objects such as the tree branches in the picture. I wasn't expecting to see these beautiful birds but to my surprise there they were. I sat and watched these birds for some time as they were riding the air currents like surfers riding the waves, it was an incredible moment to witness. |

Beautiful. The color and the background. The surfing in the air is lively. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Paul,
An awesome sight for sure to see these gorgeous birds riding the wind currents. Other then a few branches shown you were fortunate to capture them in the open. Love their beautiful contrasting colors and the detail is great.
I saw a flock while viewing crocodiles at the Tarcoles Bridge, but they stayed in the leaves of the large tree nearby. I got some shots, but nothing like yours. Congratulations!
