| This is a Caiman that was sitting in the water while we canoed in the Tortoguero river. Caimans are a smaller version of a crocodile with a different type of appetite. This Caiman was about 3 feet (1 m) from our boat when I took this shot. I took this shot in macro to really focus on its eye. I did not photoshop or edit this pic in any way, unlike my first one (grasshopper) which I tried to touch up a bit. Hope you enjoy it! This photo was taken in Dec. 2005 |
