A medium-sized, slender heron of the southeastern United States, the Tricolored Heron was formerly known as the Louisiana Heron.

From my recent one week holiday in Cuba
Done in the lagune at walking distance from the hotel in Cayo Gulliermo - Cuba

Long, slender neck and bill.
Dark back and neck
White belly.
Size: 60-70 cm (24-28 in)
Wingspan: 95 cm (37 in)
Weight: 415 g (14.65 ounces

Hi Mario,
wow what big looking feet this heron has and strong looking legs.I like the action you have captured in this shot,the way that little fish is suspended in the bird's mouth is a stroke of photographic genius.I have not seen this species with my own eyes but it looks very natural in colour and your focus is excellent as the details are fine.Your time in Cuba sure has netted you a good variety of wildlife photos and I thank you for sharing some of them with us. Bob

This is as amazing a shot as the other one with the big fish.
I must confess,I almost wondered if you had put that one together in photoshop it seemed so 'unusual' ;)
