[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Birds such as this Great Egret are always a real challenge for me when it comes to getting correct exposure. Their pure white plumages tend to overexpose and I lose a lot of detail.

I found this beautiful specimen near the sea shore while exploring an area near Granada. Great Egrets are very common in Ohio where I live, but this particular bird allowed me to get quite close before it decided to take off.

I tried to under expose this shot a tad in order to capture as much detail as I could of it's beautiful white plumage.

Hello Ron,
照的清晰 很漂亮的白鷺鷥
顏色清亮 光線亮麗 姿式真是可愛
構圖美麗 背景深遂

Hello Ron,
Superb picture, from optimum exposure you get the correct tone and detail of the white plumages.
It is very important to get highlight and shadow detail, in this picture we can see all the detail so well.
thank you for this beautiful picture.

I know exactly what you mean Ron! Using Lightroom can help this a bit but it is almost a complex as their more expensive model. You did well as far as I can tell. The white is what makes the picture anyhoo, You do get around the old Buckeye. I envy you friend and some of the opportunities you have had are just ad this exciting.

Hello Mr.Ron,
Very beautiful Egret. It seems ready to go to a party!Nice colour and light.Nice BG with very sharp focus on subject.Like it.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice time,

Hi Ron

The egret as a whole is a photogenic bird right from the white plumage, the peculiar S curve of its neck, eye details and its elegant standing gait. The white stands out well here in the grassy surroundings.

You're right, Ron, is hard work grasp the subtle richness of tone found in what is commonly called white. The property of this color to attract strong light causes overexposure often we "burn" the image ... I imagine your headaches and the many photographs that you've had to discard ... But ...What a beautiful work of art you've managed to compose!
You have managed to capture the magnificence of snowy plumage of this bird ... Congratulations and all my admiration, Ron!
You say rightly, you've accomplished portray an "angel".
A big hug, and applause for your work!

Hello Ron,
A fine shot of the beautiful Great Egret. Perfect exposure, balanced composition and natural colours. A picture for Bob's TN-classics!
Kind regards

Hi Ron,
Nice image. About loosing details: there's a small, very small part near the base of the wings where you lost them, but a beautiful image nonetheless. Pose of the heron and your focus is second to none, not to mention the composition. Probably, if you use 1/1250 or 1/1600 with the same f-stop, you get the best result on the white plumage, and more underexposured background - which means better contrast in my opinion. Don't be afraid of underexposured backgrounds, they're great. :-) Good luck!
Best regards, László

Hello Ron,
You managed this capture very well indeed. Nice sharp detail of the plumage and yellow eye with a low POV and excellent DOF. Well done my friend.
Best regards,

Hello Ron
such a lovely capture. The white on the dark background really give an outstanding composition.
Excellent presentation in a painting style composition.

this is a nice pic here very sharp.I have never seen a bird like this but I hope to in the future.

I KNOW this bird!! :) love love. What a lovely presentation with the deep green and the white plumage against this! I also see the delicate spray of plumage which is an added bonus!! WELL DONE (as always) :) Hope you and your wife can visit so you can capture MORE of these!!

Hi Ron,
Yes, it's true it's very difficult to get appropiate expose on white things. However, you did it very well except for its shoulder. Excellent sharpness and details, very good POV, gorgeous lighting, and marvellous composition. Very well done, and thanks. Best regards!
P.S. I don't why there're no point rating signs below, so I have to award you two points with a smiley in the written way.

Hello Ron,
given the difficulties that can arise with white plumage I think that you have done a remarkable job here, there is detail throughout as far as I can see and lets not forget that the constraints in size of upload on TN can also affect the final image quality.
I am also most impressed with the sharpness of the egrets eye.
Regards Les.

Great photo Ron! Beautiful pose, excellent composition, fantastic lighting and very good sharpness.
