Hello my Friends!
Today something different than insects ;)

This is a young specimen of Dalmatian Wall Lizard Podarcis melisellensis (Braun, 1877) (Lacertidae) (in Polish: murowka adriatycka). Yes, I know, the quality of this picture is not perfect, but I believe that there is not too many pictures of this species in TN gallery :)

And here are some basic facts about this species:

Distribution: along the coast of Adriatic Sea, from N Italy to Albania

Habitat: areas with stones and rocks, not rare near human buildings. Mainly near the coast, ut sometimes up to 1200 m a.s.l.

Life style: usually on the ground, active during day period, but the hottest period of day spents in the shelter (under stones, rocks, ect.)

Body size: 15-18cm

Food: different small insects and another arthropods

The picture was taken in early morning in Qeparo village, SW Albania.

As always I would like to invite you to see my earlier reptile presentations here :>

Thank you in advance for your time and visit!!! :>

Hello Radomir,
A fine capture of a young Dalmatian Wall Lizard in a fine pose and composition to vitrually fill the frame. Your focusing is well directed considering the limited DOF. Its contrasts well with the limestony BG.
TFS a fine portrait of this species new to me.
Kind regards,
Ivan

hi Radomir

Another subject that I have never thought of shooting but you have caused my attention to give this lizard a deserved look with its long tail and staring eye.

A nice close up macro shot without disturbing the lizard or frightening away [that is a skill there]. IMO, they always flee when I approached them [I am not a good photographer, I suppose!].

tfs, bill
