This is once again a butterfly not commonly seen, Peter. It has interesting wing patterns and colours.
The image is immaculate as usual. The other character in the composition, apparently a common fly, adds added interest to it.
You have a rich archive and thanks for sharing another lovely image from it.

Guten Abend Peter,
das ist ein 'fransenreines' Männchen von Erebia ligea: Die schwarz-weiß gescheckten Flügelränder sind sehr schön zu sehen. Aber nicht nur der Falter ist brilliant dargestellt, sondern auch die Blüte der Nektarpflanze - die Fliege kommt auch noch 'obendrauf'.
Ich plane gerade den nächsten Alpenurlaub und bin gespannt wie sich der bislang milde Winter auf die alpine Schmetterlingsfauna auswirken wird?!

Dear Peter.
I like your new composition so much.
First of all about my workshop. This is my personal subjective impressions. The most bright and wonderful at its reproduction at your shot is flower. Its beautifulness is simply fantastic: colours, illumination, details, sharpness, etc. The reproduction of the fly is too great. Brightness of these objects draws attention to themselves. However, the main subject is butterfly. Moreover, I can see that its beautifulness is also so great. But this beautifulness is damped up by light tone a bit. Therefore, I have decided to correct light balance. May be I am wrong. The main thing, that I have done it with love to the original (and to you, my dear Peter).
As usual for your pictures this shot is composed amazedly. Separation of the main subject from BG and colorfulness and blurriness of the BG are outstanding. My best wishes and TFS.

Let me congratulate you on an excellent presentation of E. ligea. This shot is sharp, has excellent Bg, well composed and even includes a fly on the scabious flower.
I'm waiting to take a shot like this this year as they emerge on odd years, having a two year cycle in Sweden.

Dear Peter,
I've tried to let both the lovely butterfly and the gorgeuous blossom in this masterly composition of yours share the focus without either one of them dominating the center but instead harmoniously collaborate and together draw the attention of the viewer - the cute little fly being the moderator on the stage. This I've done by cropping it the way seen in WS, slightly reducing the dimensions, and adding a frame so as to make the eyes of the spectator stay within the borders of the scene. I've also tried to ameliorate the problem with light balance by adjusting highlights and levels somewhat. I can do no better than quote Alexei to justify my audacity: "The main thing, that I have done it with love to the original (and to you, my dear Peter)".

No había visto el día de su publicación esta imagen Peter... realmente estética captura por el esplendor con el que nos muestras a los 3 protagonistas con bellos colores y buena agudeza.
La profundidad elegida, beneficia el despegue del primer plano sobre el fondo de la escena con agradable punto de vista y acertado encuadre.
Los intensos colores son buenos, aunque la mariposa aparece algo oscura con respecto al resto de la escena.

I had not seen the day of their publication this image Peter... really aesthetic capture for the splendor with which you show us to the 3 protagonist with beautiful colors and good sharpness.
The elected depth, benefits the takeoff of the forefront on the bottom of the scene with pleasant point of view and right framing.
The intense colors are good, although the butterfly appears something dark respect to the rest of the scene.
