Essays with a compact camera on a trip:
I's frustrating, its humiliating, its awesome, to try macros with a compact camera! Focussing is difficult. In this case I applied some rules: the prey has to be reasonably big, there is to be no wind and I have to shoot many times.
ID: Arran brown (Lepidoptera; Satyridae; Erebia ligea; Weissbindiger Mohrenfalter). It sits on Centaurea jacea. The underside can be seen in a workshop version. Thanks Peter (batu) for correcting the ID! The picture has been taken at the beautiful Lech river at 950 m a.s.l. (see Map:View for details).
Technical stuff: Cybershot DSC-H10 with Zeiss Tessar zoom, magnifying lens, UV filter, antishake, ISO 100, 1/400 sec, f/4 |

Lieber Dietrich,

Hello Dietrich,
Although you used a compact camera photo is very good. Bg isn't enough blurred but sharpness is perfect and colours also. Pose is very nice.
Regards, Pawel
