Nice to see the next one in your Erebia series.
The Lesser Mountain Ringlet is also new to me.
Though the DOF is rather limited, I like the comp. and the open wing position that this individual takes to try to warm up.

I must tell you that ever since we had that funny talk about these butterflies's nicknames, i have a good laught when i see one from you, my friend!
This is another great macro from you!
I'k quite amazed not to see a WS with another view for it )chuckle) :))
The details and color here are terrific and the contrast with the BG excellent.

What an elegant specimen you have pictured. Delicateness of reproduction of its costume and colours is great as well as the pleasant colour tones of whole picture. Very expressive and interesting combination of smooth part of picture (butterfly on the leaf) and striped part on the top-right side. The stem strips look very nice. Hallo Peter,
hier ist das nächste Exemplar für 'meine Sammlung' - ein Männchen von Erebia melampus. Du lieferst hier eine schöne Aufsicht, so dass die Zeichungen aller Flügel deutlich zusehen sind. Am schärfsten ist der linke Vorderflügel gezeichnet. Komposition und Farben gefallen mir wie immer sehr.

Hallo Peter,
Diese Serie ist hochinteressant. Habe meine Erebiae mit Deinen Bildern verglichen. Bis jetzt nur eine gemeinsame Sorte. Immer weicht ein kleines Detail ab. Diesen kleinen Mohrenfalter habe ich in dieser Form bei meinen Fotos nicht gefunden. Aber vielleicht nicht fotografiert.

Un amplio (quizás demasiado) cuadro amigo mío con excelente punto de vista y rotación de la mariposa dentro de la escena, con apropiado foco y agudeza, que junto con la iluminación adecuada, brindan bellos detalles y naturales colores de la mariposa y su entorno.
El escaso DOF beneficia la estética de la composición.

A wide (maybe too much) frame my friend with excellent point of view and rotation of the butterfly inside the scene, with appropriate focus and sharpness that together with the suitable lighting, they offer beautiful details and natural colors of the butterfly and their environment.
Scarce DOF benefits the aesthetics of the composition.

Hi Peter

This lesser mountain ringlet gave you such a beautiful pose with fully extended wings and you made good use of the opportunity to capture all the amazing details on those remarkable and colourful wings.

The composition and POV are great. The large format of the photo at maximum frame size (800x800 pixels) adds to the impact of the image. The one half of the photo utilised the leaf as a contrasting and complimentary BG and the other half of the photo used the foliage and vegetation to make this butterfly stand out nicely. Of course the posting was rounded of with your ever informative and complete notes.
