Hi Peter,

Anne

Unreal picture, so unusual POV and perception of the butterfly image. Simply fantastic reproduction of the insect, terrific details and razor sharpness, great color details. Precisely selected DOF allows to concentrate all attention on the beauty of this butterfly. Bravo and my best wishes.

Hi Peter,

wow, this is breathtaking in everyway! The only thing i have to add to whats already been said is that i very much like the way the stalk it is perched upon leads away underneath it, adding a great sense of depth.

Very well done, excellent work.

Hi Peter and sorry for the delay. I just arrived home a few hours ago.

What a fantstic macro!!! It's simply amazing what you managed here: the pose of the butterfly is impeccable and you timing is great - capturing it with it's wings at a perfect 180 degree angle! Also, you managed to keep in entirely in full focus, while blurring everything so beautifully! Brilliant DOF work there!
The details are simply impressive - especially aroung the head, antennae and body and the natural colors make it stand out even better!
The WS photo is wonderful, too - with a charming view of his underwings.
My complinets to you!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

The sharpness and details of your pictures never ceases to amaze me, Peter! Over time, you had given me some good advice, and looking at your work and notes has been a great learning experience.

Dramatic POV. Stunning 3-D effect thanks to outstanding DOF. Nice background. Amazing details and natural colors. All three shots are technically outstanding and each would stand on it's own. The two additional shots really add to knowledge of presentation.

Hello Peter,

This is another exceptional POV from you! The picture excells in sharpness, quality and complexity of the details.

Composition:

Very good placement of the subject within the square format of the picture! The larger empty space in the lower left corner allows the butterfly to breath and positions him more comfortably towards the upper right corner. The beautiful background is well blurred and isolates the subject very good! The picture has an excellent perspective!

Colors:

The natural looking colors are enhanced by very nice metallic iridescence in the scales on the wings. The saturation was well adjusted and so was the white balance!

Contrast:

Outstanding details are emphasized by a well adjusted contrast! Also the subject stands out better due to a lower contrast in the background.

Exposure:

As usually, exposure is spot on with no details lost due to over- or underexposure. Even the white hairs along the outline of the butterfly's wings is well exposed.

Focus:

The sharp focus rendered great details in the subject. Special attention was given to the background which was well controlled via DOF.

An outstanding picture with carefully conducted PP and useful notes! Thanks for sharing!

With Friendly Regards,
Eddie
