Photo of Dock Bugs mating from spring time. One was hesitating and tried to fly... I found interesting to see the details of the "wings" of this bugs.

Coreus marginatus (Linnaeus, 1758)
Family: Coreidae

The Dock Bug is a large and mottled reddish-brown squashbug with a broad, oval abdomen. The two small projections between the antennae are diagnostic.
There is one generation per year, adults mating and laying eggs in spring/early summer. The larvae feed on dock and other related plants in the Polygonaceae; new adults may be found from August onwards. This species often forms noticeable congregations both before and after hibernation.
Adult: All year
Length: 13-15 mm (British Bugs)

Very sharp capture of these mating Bugs from the top perspective, Catherine.
The one with a glowing abdomen is the male of the species, I guess.
The details and colours are really wonderful in this image.

Bonjour Catherine !

Amicalement
Anne
