Hi Pat,

I think you should be happy with your camera. Your photo has excelent colors. Very good sharp image with rasor sharp focus on butterfly eye. DOF is very good for the objective stoped at 5.6

Très belle réalisation pour une macro tiré à 400mm, belles couleurs et netteté.
Je connais mal le matos de Nikon mais si ton 80-400 et l'équivalant (ou comparable au 100-400mm de Canon) ce bon résultat ne m'étonne pas.

The proof is in the putting! I may no longer now wish for a D3...which chances are I could never afford anyway..but I will look into the possibility of upgrading to the d300...just because of fantastic shows such as this...Great camera and good eye!

Picture is very colourful and has really nice light! According to the insect - you kept it in right moment, a drinking butterfly looks really nice for watching :)

Hi Pat,

A nice shot with your new camera. I don't think I have seen this butterfly before. It has lovely natural colors and pretty markings. Contrasts well with the pink flowers.

le BG est superbe,oui bien sur le papillon aussi mais j'aime beaucoup toutes ses couleurs.
donc oui le papillon est tres bien,je suis même surpris du resultat obtenu avec un objo qui n'est peut etre pas ideal pour la macro!
et le D200 c'est pour le fiston?

What an impressive splash of colours! I'm sure the butterfly feels at home there! Excellent capture, sharp focus on the butterfly and I love the background although it is maybe a little too busy to make the butterfly stand out sharply. I'm sure your camera will be a success though!
